Tbh, the more you play and the more weapons and songs you purchase from vendors/unlock through gameplay, the more fun it becomes. The game world would feeeze while you were choosing from these in-game menus, so you character is safe while doing so.Īlso, some weapons are only available when you have leveled up and acquired the correct skill to weild them, so check your available skills when leveing up. which when chosen lead to a subsequent menu to choose from. I believe in the case of songs though the options are categories like elemental summons, physical attack companions, support helpers, etc. Again, there would be (4) options given when pressing R1 and (4) seperate option under R2. Your R1 and R2 options would be your songs which summon your helpers to aid in the fights. For instance, L1 may have your bow, sword and shield, flail, and long sword options while L2 had dualwield swords, axe, a magic weapon, and and fists. I never played on PC, but on like PS2 L1 brought up (4) options and L2 brought up (4) seperate options for equiping weapons you had aquired. The "equip"commands are all done in-game. you have a short sword already and you just picked up another one) are also auto-converted to gold. The Bards Tale Trilogy contains remastered versions of all three classic. Also, the weapons you pick up with stats that are the same or worse than what you already own in that category (i.e. The Directors Cut brings more character customization options, new items. The items you pick up are auto-converted to gold. Hey, if this is the action/adventure Bard's Tale where you start in the bar and have to kill a rat in the basement as a 1st quest. I love the characters, and the narrator reminds me of Dungeon Keeper 2-which I also enjoyed long ago. I don't understand much of the game, but I hope that if I could get some help understanding inventory, I can enjoy this a little more. What is happening to all the crap I pick up? Is it automatically converted to gold? I cannot sell items I pick up, right? Why buy swords and armors if I do not know how to equip them? I cannot tell what armor I am wearing, or how to trade armor. But if I find a sword while adventuring, I do not know how to equip it, or how to tell which sword I am currently using. I can press 1 and 2, then S to use a fist or sword. I am repeatedly going to Options\Control Options\Modify Controls to figure out what key presses do what, but it this is clumsy.Īnyway, I cannot figure out my inventory. ![]() Maybe the other games support other characters and large parties? I'm Playing "The Bard's Tale." There may be other games in the series, but I'm playing a Bard.
