![]() Over the last two years, we have come to realize that the future of work at Yelp is remote, as it has shown that it's best for our employees, and for our business. That means that a business only pays for an ad when someone clicks on it. One of the amazing things about Yelp advertising is that it's a cost-per-click program. While they do quite a bit of sales training, if you're not a pushy sales person, you won't succeed unless you're fully bought into a meh product. Many a small business owner told me how they were lied to, deceived, or not carefully helped by the sales person when speaking with them.įinal gripe is the quota system. They drill into you that you are helping business owners, but thousands disagree. I would not recommend to anyone with a conscience. Business in general is rough, however Yelp is not making it easier. Corrosive product to small business owners. Terrible customer service that doesn't take situations into account, especially when a business owner was told one thing, and another happened. Most complaints are about reviews and empty clicks. They also site some mystery algorithm for reviews. Subtly coercing business owners in places where Yelp does or doesn't have a strong presence to pay for ads or be buried in results. Strongly dislike the pushy system in place.
